Medium-Voltage Adjustable Reactor
AT series medium-voltage adjustable reactor is used for inductive load regulation and short-circuit current limiting in 6kV/10kV/35kV test circuits and power systems. With multi-tap or air-gap adjustable inductance, it can be combined with resistive/capacitive loads for transformer tests, MV switchgear tests, reactive power compensation tests and harmonic filtering tests.
Application
AT series MV adjustable reactor is an inductive load device with adjustable inductance, used in medium-voltage power system test circuits to regulate current, limit short-circuit current, compensate reactive power or simulate actual grid inductive loads. Main applications include:
Inductive load for transformer short-circuit and temperature rise tests
Dynamic and thermal stability tests for MV switchgear and circuit breakers
Switching tests for reactive power compensation equipment (capacitor banks)
Harmonic filtering reactor tests
Short-circuit and starting tests for generators and motors
Short-circuit current limiting in power systems
Characteristic tests for MV cables and electrical equipment
Structural Features
MV insulation design: Rated 6kV/10kV/35kV, insulation level meets GB/T 311 and IEC 60071
Adjustable inductance: Multi-tap stepped adjustment or core air-gap continuous adjustment
Core/air-core options:
Iron-core: High inductance, low losses, suitable for continuous operation
Air-core: Good linearity, no saturation, suitable for high-current impulse tests
Short-time high current withstand: Withstands short-time high current in short-circuit and switchgear tests
Low noise operation: Optimized core structure and air ducts reduce operating noise
Flexible cooling: Natural air (AN) or forced air (AF) cooling
Safety protection: Over-temperature, over-current and grounding protection
Selection Guide
- Transformer short-circuit test: Choose air-core reactor for short-time high current and good linearity, avoiding core saturation
- Temperature rise test (continuous): Choose iron-core reactor for low losses and low noise
- Switchgear dynamic/thermal test: Choose short-time high-current reactor matching switchgear rated short-time withstand current
- Reactive power compensation test: Choose adjustable reactor to simulate system inductive load with capacitor banks
- Harmonic filtering test: Choose specific inductance value to form filter branch with capacitors
- Multi-voltage application: Choose multi-tap design for 6kV/10kV/35kV coverage
- Outdoor test station: Choose outdoor protection degree (IP54+), weather and corrosion resistant
