ABB is committed to enabling a sustainable and efficient future through electrical and automation technologies. By combining engineering expertise with digital technology, ABB helps industries improve energy efficiency and productivity.

ABB was formed in 1988 through the merger of Sweden's ASEA and Switzerland's Brown Boveri, two international enterprises each with more than a century of history. Headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, ABB builds on more than 140 years of excellence with operations in more than 100 countries and approximately 110,000 employees.

ABB established its China business department in Hong Kong in 1974 and founded its first China joint venture — Xiamen ABB Switchgear Co., Ltd. — in 1992. Today, ABB conducts R&D, manufacturing, sales, and engineering services in China through 30 local companies and 14,000 employees across more than 100 cities. China is ABB's second-largest global market. Over the past decade, ABB has invested more than USD 1 billion in China, with approximately 85% of sales revenue from locally manufactured products, systems, and services.
